We trust this message finds you well. Today, we are pleased to announce significant updates to our domain services that aim to streamline your experience and provide you with enhanced flexibility and options. Please take a moment to review these changes, which are designed to simplify the domain management process.

1. Removal of Domain Grace Fee: Immediate Effect

We are excited to inform you that effective immediately, the domain grace fee has been eliminated for all new invoices moving forward. The grace period, which activates after a domain has expired, no longer incurs a fee ranging from NPR 100 to 500, depending on the domain's TLD. This change is part of our commitment to offering transparent and customer-friendly pricing.

Actions for Invoices with Grace Fee:

If you currently hold an invoice with a grace fee, here's how you can proceed:

  • Option 1: Simply re-create the invoice from the menu bar by navigating to "Domains" and selecting "Renew Domain". Then placing an order for the domain as is required.

  • Option 2: Alternatively, you can open a support ticket or initiate a live chat request, and our dedicated team will be ready to assist you promptly.

Grace Period Duration:

Domains will continue to remain in the grace period for 20 days, allowing you ample time to address any renewals without the associated fee.

Extended Grace Period: Up to 35 Days for Majority of Domains

However, we understand that circumstances can vary, and your peace of mind is paramount to us. For 98.5% of the domains registered with us, we have extended the grace period even further, up to a total of 35 days even if this is not reflected in the system as we can only have a single duration set (which we need to do for the lowest possible). This provides you with an extended window for renewals, ensuring you have more time to take action.

Renewal Guidance for Different Grace Periods:

  • 98.5% Domains: If your domain is part of the majority, renewed within the first 20 days or even within the extended 35-day grace period, we're here to assist without any renewal fees.

  • ~1.5% Domains: For domains that fall within this minority category, the grace period remains at 20 days, and unfortunately, we can't modify this limitation for those specific domains. You can reach out to us via any of our support channels to check if your domain falls under this category and what actions you can take to have it moved.

2. Reduced Redemption Fee: 50% Reduction

In a move to offer more affordable options for domain restoration, we have taken steps to decrease the redemption fee by 50%. The new redemption fee is now NPR 10,000 per domain restored. The redemption phase applies to domains that have surpassed their grace period after its initial expiry.

Redemption Phase Duration:

While the system's redemption phase lasts for 1 day, the domain will remain in this phase for an extended period of up to 40 days. This adjustment provides you with additional time and flexibility if you decide to renew a domain during the redemption period, even with the higher fee. Should you wish to renew a domain during the redemption phase and are not concerned about the fee, please reach out via a support ticket to have your invoice re-activated to facilitate the renewal process for your domain.
